Patrick Pereira

My name is Patrick Pereira. I am a clinical psychologist, licensed in Brazil, and I see clients both online and in person. For more than 10 years I have worked with individual therapy, couples therapy and career guidance, helping people who live in Germany, Australia, Brazil, Portugal and Canada, among other places.

Education

In my psychology degree I chose the health track. In my master's in Psychology as Science and Profession, at PUC-Campinas and funded by CAPES, Brazil's federal agency for graduate research, I created a program for developing life projects. I also hold a specialization in clinical and institutional educational psychology.

How I work

I care about offering a humane practice, consistent with each client's needs and history and grounded in science, while keeping up with what the field produces. The theoretical basis of my work is Behavior Analysis — an approach recognized by Brazil's Federal Council of Psychology and widely documented in the scientific literature.

Teaching

I teach at a university, with experience in courses such as Experimental Analysis of Behavior, Functional Analysis of Behavior, Basic Psychological Processes, Educational Psychology, Psychology for Nutrition, Psychology for Physiotherapy, Research Design in Psychology and History of Philosophy, among others.

Research and outreach

During the years I worked in research, I produced dozens of scientific papers alongside authors recognized in Brazil and abroad. Most of that work is freely available in open-access journals and conference proceedings.

I also run the EscutArte channel on YouTube, with conversations about mental health, books and films. The videos are spoken in Portuguese.

A note on language

Sessions are held in Portuguese. If you read this page in English and would like to work together, write to me — we can check whether Portuguese works for you, or I can point you to a colleague.
